The 15 yard container in Phoenix
The 15 yard is the step up from the 10 when the job is one big room, not one small one. Kitchen remodels are the classic fit — cabinets, counters, flooring and the drywall behind it — and so is a whole-house carpet and tile change-out, or a wood fence or shade structure coming down.
It is short enough for most driveways from Glendale to Gilbert, and the walls are low enough to load over the side without a ramp. If you are between a 10 and a 20 and the stuff is light and bulky, this is usually where you land.
Kitchens, floors, fences and single-room remodels
A kitchen makes more debris than people expect: by the time the cabinets, the backsplash and the subfloor are out, a 10 is tight and a 15 is right. Flooring jobs are the same — tile out of a three-bedroom house is heavy and awkward, and the 15 gives you the length to lay it flat.
Backyard jobs are the other regular. Old wood fences, pergolas and ramadas, sun-beaten decks, a landscaping refresh — cut the long boards down and they stack along the bed. Rock and dirt are the exception: if more than half the load is rock, dirt or tile, step down to a 10.
Weight on a 15 yard
Two to three tons is included, depending on the material. Tile, plaster, stucco and wet yard waste add up fast, so for a heavy flooring or stucco job we tell you up front whether it fits the allowance or needs a split load. Light demo — cabinets, drywall, carpet — never gets near the line. Overage is charged per ton at the disposal rate, and we say what that is before you load.
Suitability
Is the 15 yard the right size for you?
Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what usually decides.
Choose the 15 yard for
- Kitchen remodel including cabinets and counters
- Whole-house carpet or tile tear-out
- Wood fence, deck, pergola or shade structure removal
- Two-room or move-out cleanout
- Landscaping refresh — shrubs, mulch, old plants
Pick a different size for
- Whole-house renovation — go to the 20 or 30
- Concrete or clay tile roof tear-off (weight — talk to us first)
- Commercial build-outs
- Anything hazardous: paint, chemicals, pool chemicals, batteries, tires
Placing a 15 yard container on a Valley property
It needs about 60 feet of straight, level run for the truck and 25 feet of overhead clearance. On your own driveway or lot in Phoenix we found no City permit for the container; in a street, lane or sidewalk, Street Transportation's Right-of-Way Management Office (602-262-6235) issues a TRACS restriction permit and wants two to three business days' notice. Other cities have their own rules — Scottsdale names roll-off dumpsters in its right-of-way permit, Chandler charges $315 for a traffic control permit. Check your HOA too: some limit how long a container can sit in a driveway. Boards go under the rails on request. Each town page covers its own code.

15 Yard Dumpster — questions we get asked
Is a 15 yard enough for a kitchen remodel?
For most Valley kitchens, yes. If you are also gutting the room next door or replacing tile through the whole house, step up to the 20.
Will it fit in my driveway?
It needs about 16 feet of container length and a straight approach. Most two-car driveways have room. If you are in an HOA, check its rules on containers in the driveway before you book — some limit how long one can sit there.
Can I keep it longer than a week?
Yes. The standard rental is 7 days and extensions are a daily rate — just tell us before the scheduled pickup.
What is the weight limit?
Two to three tons is included, depending on what is going in. Dense material like tile, stucco or wet green waste can push past that, so tell us what it is and we will plan the load.
