Dumpster Rental Cost in Phoenix: What a Flat Rate Covers

The honest answer is that we quote every job flat, by phone, for your address and your material. The useful answer is what goes into that number and what moves it. Here is the arithmetic we do before we give it.

Dumpster Rental Cost in Phoenix: What a Flat Rate Covers

The typical range, and why we quote by phone

Dumpster rental in Phoenix generally ranges from about $350 to $750. Where a job lands in that range depends on five things: the container size, the type of debris, the delivery location, how long you keep it and the disposal weight. A flat rate covers delivery, pickup and disposal up to the included weight allowance, for a standard 7-day rental. No hidden fees and no surprise charges on the invoice.

We quote by phone rather than post a price list because the two things that decide the number — what is going in and how far the truck runs — change from job to job. A 15 yard of carpet in Tempe and a 10 yard of broken block wall in Buckeye are different jobs at the scale and on the road. Call (602) 806-8650 with the address and the material and you will have a firm number before you hang up.

Where the number comes from: disposal by the ton

The biggest cost inside any flat rate is disposal, and disposal in the Valley is charged by the ton. These are the published public gate rates:

FacilityRateNotes
27th Avenue Transfer Station, 3060 S 27th Ave, Phoenix$55 a ton, $40 minimumCertified clean green $32 a ton; Mon–Fri 5:30 a.m.–5 p.m., Sat 6 a.m.–3 p.m.
North Gateway Transfer Station, 30205 N Black Canyon Hwy, Phoenix$55 a ton, $40 minimumCertified clean green $37 a ton; same hours
Glendale Municipal Landfill, 11480 W Glendale Ave$55.58 a ton in 2026, $50.58 minimumHard-to-handle items $155.58 a ton; $57.58 a ton from 2027; Mon–Fri 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m., Sat 7 a.m.–3 p.m.

Phoenix's SR-85 Landfill in Buckeye is not open to the public, and the private landfills and transfer stations around the Valley do not publish commercial gate rates. The public numbers still show the shape of the cost: every ton is roughly $55 before the truck moves, a load of clean green costs less than a mixed one, and an uncovered load draws a $20 fee at the Phoenix stations.

The three things that add to it

Weight. The flat rate includes a stated allowance — about 1–2 tons on a 10 yard, 2–3 on a 15, 3–4 on a 20, 4–5 on a 30 and 5–6 on a 40. Concrete, block, dirt, rock, tile and roofing use it up fast, which is why we put heavy loads in a smaller box loaded level and tell you where the line is before you load. Overage follows the disposal site's weight charges.

Days. The standard rental is 7 days. Longer is a reasonable daily or weekly extension, subject to availability — just tell us before the pickup date.

Special items. Tires and car batteries are banned from Arizona landfills (A.R.S. 44-1304 and 44-1322), fridges and A/C units need their refrigerant recovered, and the Phoenix stations charge $20 for each refrigerant appliance and $50 to $250 for special handling. If something like that turns up in the load, it costs money at the gate. The what-goes-in guide says where each belongs instead.

What the cities charge for their own roll-offs

Several cities rent roll-offs to their own residents or businesses and publish the price, so here they are for comparison. Each has its own eligibility rules — Phoenix's needs an active city services account, for example — and each adds disposal by the ton on top of the haul.

CitySizesPublished price
Phoenix10, 20, 30, 40 yd; up to 10 days$165 a pull + $55 a ton
Peoria20, 30, 40 yd$210 a pull + $31 a ton + $32 delivery + $50 a month
Tempe10, 15, 25, 40 yd$323.74 haul + $31.95 a ton landfill ($28 a ton green organics)
Gilbert10, 20, 40 yd$61.09 delivery + $266.78 haul + $34.50 a ton
Scottsdale20, 30, 40 yd$677.09 a pull including 3 tons + $51.19 a ton over

Mesa, Glendale and Surprise also run roll-off services but do not publish the price. Chandler runs none and sends residents to permitted private haulers.

Permit and licence fees — published and not

None of these change our flat rate, but they can add to the cost of a job. Phoenix's right-of-way temporary use permit has no application fee (City Code 31-81). Chandler's traffic control permit is $315 plus a refundable deposit. Paradise Valley's right-of-way permit is $100 plus a $2,000 refundable bond. Scottsdale, Glendale, Fountain Hills, Cave Creek and Buckeye publish no dumpster-specific street-permit fee.

Demolition permits sit with the owner. Phoenix charges $98 for a single-family structure and $390 plus $6 per 1,000 square feet for other buildings, plus a $300 review and a 30-day wait for historic properties and commercial buildings 50 years or older. Chandler charges $100. Paradise Valley charges $290 for a complete demolition plus a Demolition Haul Permit of $110 per 100 cubic yards. A County asbestos notice for a regulated demolition is $600, and a Rule 310 dust permit for a site over 0.1 acre is $570.

Where the money hides

The most expensive container is the heavy one that should have been two. A block wall, a tile roof and a kitchen in one 30 yard is far past its weight allowance; a 10 of block and tile loaded level plus a 20 of everything else stays inside both. Long, solid pieces matter too — at the Glendale landfill anything 4 feet long or 2 feet across, such as stumps, trees and concrete, is priced at $155.58 a ton instead of $55.58, so cut it down before it goes in. And never load above the rails: an over-full box cannot legally be hauled and sits until the top comes off.

Dumpster or junk removal — and getting a quote

For anything beyond a couple of pickup loads, a container you load yourself is cheaper, because you are paying for the box rather than the hours. For a small job you want gone today with nobody to lift, our junk removal crew is the better value. Call (602) 806-8650 — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Same-day delivery is often available when you call before noon.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Phoenix?

Generally about $350 to $750, depending on size, debris type, delivery location, rental length and disposal weight. We quote each job flat by phone for your address.

What is included in a flat rate?

Delivery, pickup and disposal up to the included weight allowance, for a standard 7-day rental. Extra days and weight over the allowance are the only additions, and both are explained before you load.

Is there a cheaper way to get rid of concrete or block?

Keep it separate, in a 10 yard loaded level, so it never pushes a mixed load over its allowance. The Phoenix bulk pickup will not take bricks, concrete, dirt or rock at all.

Does my city change the price?

Delivery location is one of the five things in the quote, so the far runs — Buckeye, Queen Creek, Apache Junction and Cave Creek are all roughly 33 to 38 road miles from our yard — can cost a little more. Any city permit fee is separate and we tell you what it is.
